Drive Inverter Recall

Drive inverter fault may cause loss of drive power
On November 5, 2024, Tesla recalled 2,431 Cybertrucks due to a potential drive inverter fault that could cause a complete loss of drive power to the wheels. The recall affected vehicles manufactured between November 2023 and July 2024. Unlike software-related recalls, this required owners to bring their vehicles to Tesla service centers where the faulty inverter was replaced free of charge.
Tesla stated it had been using the updated inverter component in production since July 30, 2024. This was the sixth Cybertruck recall of 2024, highlighting the challenges of ramping production on a vehicle with unprecedented stainless steel construction and tri-motor powertrain.
