2023 production officially confirmed, first deliveries expected later that year
As 2022 closed, Tesla officially confirmed that Cybertruck production would begin in 2023. The company had been building toward this milestone throughout the year, with the Gigafactory Texas production line now largely installed and the design fully frozen. Pilot production was expected to begin in early 2023, with customer deliveries targeted for later in the year.
Tesla also hinted that the production Cybertruck’s pricing would be higher than the original 2019 concept pricing of $39,900 to $69,900, reflecting the increased costs of the stainless steel body and 4680 battery technology. This would later prove accurate when the final prices were announced at the November 2023 delivery event, with the base Rear-Wheel Drive model starting at $60,990.
