Warning Light Font Size Recall

Instrument panel warning lights font too small — 2.2M+ vehicles affected

On January 30, 2024, Tesla issued a fleet-wide recall affecting 2,193,869 vehicles including the 2024 Cybertruck. NHTSA found that the font size on the instrument panel for the brake, park, and ABS warning lights was too small, making it difficult for drivers to read. The recall also affected the 2012-23 Model S, 2016-24 Model X, and 2017-23 Model Y.

Tesla fixed the issue with a free over-the-air software update, so owners did not need to visit a service center. This was the first Cybertruck recall of 2024, and it was the only one that was not Cybertruck-specific.
